Chips, Creators, & Claude’s Cloud
LFG Ventures presents a weekly newsletter delivering private market (pre-IPO) insights and signals across tech and frontier industries.

Happy Friday,
From data centers to naval shipyards, the frontier is stretching in every direction. Blue Owl is backing OpenAI’s Stargate with billions in private credit, Tesla is hinting at its own chip fab to power autonomy and robotics, and Anduril is now building autonomous warships with Hyundai Heavy Industries. Google is pulling prediction markets into mainstream finance, MrBeast is turning Riyadh into Beast Land, and Perplexity is bringing AI search straight into Snapchat. Anthropic just committed 50 billion dollars to new data centers and OpenAI rolled out GPT 5.1 with more personality. The pace is not slowing, and the edges of tech are getting weirder and more ambitious by the week.
Let’s go!

🛰️ Blue Owl Backs OpenAI’s Stargate
Private credit giant Blue Owl is putting $3B into a New Mexico data center that will power OpenAI’s Stargate project, with banks lining up another 18 billion dollars in loans around it. The facility is planned as a multi gigawatt campus, built to feed the next wave of frontier models. It is a clear signal that AI infrastructure is becoming its own asset class, with private credit stepping in where equity used to dominate. TechStartups
🛥️ Anduril Builds Autonomous Warships
Anduril Industries has partnered with HD Hyundai Heavy Industries to co-develop a new class of dual-use Autonomous Surface Vessels (ASVs), intended for both U.S. Navy use and commercial markets. These vessels will feature open-architecture systems, modular payloads, and integrated autonomy to perform intelligence, surveillance, strike, and electronic-warfare missions. Anduril plans to build prototypes in Korea and scale manufacturing in the U.S., signaling its expansion from unmanned submarines into large-scale surface-fleet production. The move positions Anduril deeper in the naval arena and highlights its ambition to transform maritime defense through software-defined hardware. Anduril
🤖 Tesla Dreams of a Terafab
At Tesla’s shareholder meeting, Musk said the company may need its own gigantic chip fab to meet future demand for AI and robotics, on top of existing work with TSMC and Samsung. He floated a potential partnership with Intel while talking up Tesla’s next generation in house AI chips, which he claims will be far more power and cost efficient than current options. The goal is simple enough to understand, if Tesla wants to own autonomy and robots at scale, it probably needs to own more of the silicon that powers them. Reuters
📊 Google Bakes Prediction Markets into Finance
Google is starting to surface real time odds from Kalshi and Polymarket directly inside its finance tools, putting prediction market signals next to traditional market data. That means traders, allocators, and armchair macro nerds will see crowd implied probabilities for events like elections and rate cuts inside the Google interface they already use. It is another sign that prediction markets are moving from the fringe into the financial mainstream. NBC
🎢 MrBeast Builds Beast Land in Riyadh
MrBeast is opening a temporary theme park called Beast Land in Riyadh as part of this year’s Riyadh Season, running from mid November through the end of the year. The park will feature stunt style attractions, game show style experiences, and big ticket bundle packages tailored to his global fan base. It is a good reminder that creator IP is now strong enough to anchor real world destinations, not just YouTube thumbnails. Economic Times
👻 Perplexity Powers Search Inside Snapchat
Snap and Perplexity signed a deal to bring Perplexity’s conversational search engine straight into the Snapchat chat interface starting in 2026. As part of the partnership, Perplexity will reportedly pay Snap 400 million dollars in cash and stock for the integration. This gives Perplexity a huge consumer distribution channel, and gives Snap an AI native search layer that keeps users inside the app instead of bouncing to the open web. TechCrunch
🏗️ Anthropic Drops $50B on Data Centers
Anthropic announced a 50 billion dollar plan to build custom data centers in Texas and New York in partnership with Fluidstack, with the first sites expected to go live in 2026. The buildout is designed to support Claude for hundreds of thousands of enterprise customers, while locking in long term compute independence. It puts Anthropic firmly in the same infrastructure league as the hyperscalers and pushes the AI arms race deeper into concrete, steel, and power lines. Reuters
✨ GPT-5.1 Arrives with More Personality
OpenAI released GPT 5.1, introducing two new variants called Instant and Thinking. Instant is designed to feel warmer and more conversational, while Thinking slows down for harder problems and speeds up on simple ones. The update also adds better style controls so users can shape ChatGPT’s tone and personality, making it feel more like a customized assistant. It is another step toward AI that adapts to context and intent rather than acting like a single one size fits all model. OpenAI

🔮 The Oracle of Omaha
Warren Buffet said goodbye in his final annual letter earlier this week. As he signed off, here were his final pieces of advice:
LEGEND.
"One perhaps self-serving observation. I’m happy to say I feel better about the second half of my life than the first. My advice: Don’t beat yourself up over past mistakes – learn at least a little from them and move on. It is never too late to improve. Get the right heroes and copy them. You can start with Tom Murphy; he was the best.
Remember Alfred Nobel, later of Nobel Prize fame, who – reportedly – read his own obituary that was mistakenly printed when his brother died and a newspaper got mixed up. He was horrified at what he read and realized he should change his behavior.
Don’t count on a newsroom mix-up: Decide what you would like your obituary to say and live the life to deserve it.
Greatness does not come about through accumulating great amounts of money, great amounts of publicity or great power in government. When you help someone in any of thousands of ways, you help the world. Kindness is costless but also priceless. Whether you are religious or not, it’s hard to beat The Golden Rule as a guide to behavior.
I write this as one who has been thoughtless countless times and made many mistakes but also became very lucky in learning from some wonderful friends how to behave better (still a long way from perfect, however). Keep in mind that the cleaning lady is as much a human being as the Chairman."
